You were created for fellowship.
You are not an accident. Not some freak mutation of time and chance.
Man was uniquely created by a loving God to fellowship with Him and enjoy Him.
But our first parents rebelled against their Creator, alienated themselves from His holy presence and transmitted the corrupting, ruinous results to their posterity. This includes you. Me. Everybody.
One sin infected all of humanity.
That one act of rebellion ravaged the entire human race. Injustice, disease, poverty, anguish, hatred, murder, war--even death of so-called natural causes-- all come as result of sin.
Sin has impacted you. You are no stranger to disappointment and heartache. You've been sinned against. Have you ever inflicted pain on another? By human nature and by choice we all sin.
You don't need a vivid imagination to grasp the devastating power of this dynamic. Chances are you've experienced sin's divisive effects personally.
Among the ruinous consequences of Adam & Eve's willful choice to disobey God, separation from Him may be the worst. Where once sweet communion with their Creator was a daily delight, guilt and fear became the new reality.
All sin is abhorrent to God. He is holy and cannot coexist with evil. Shameful thoughts we think, caustic words we speak, even our noble deeds are mixed with impure motives and what's-in-it-for-me attitudes. And they alienate us from our Creator. Sin separates.
